KONKHRA: 'Hail To The King' Video Being Planned
November 22, 2007Danish extreme metallers KONKHRA recently finished re-recording their long-awaited new album, "Nothing Is Sacred", after encountering technical difficulties which forced them to scrap some of the previously completed early tracks. Two songs from the CD — "Religion is a Whore" and "Hail to the King" — have been posted on the group's MySpace page.
KONKHRA vocalist/guitarist Anders Lundemark has issued the following update:
"Just to let all know what's happening in our camp: we have decided to include some orchestral arrangements on the record. This will postpone the release a little, and some friends of ours already suggested that we change the name of the record to 'Chinese Hypocrisy'. But, we will get it done. The video production for 'Hail to the King' is being planned as we speak, and if we get it done before the end of the year we'll be lucky. We are rolling out the tanks with this one, and the plans so far call for optimum timing. The producer thinks we should be able to be done around Xmas, but we'll probably premiere it around January."
Lundemark previously stated about KONKHRA's new material, "'Doctrines of Death' is one of the extra new songs we decided to record. It's about three minutes of 240 bpm (beats per minute) blastbeat. Think 'Dominate' by MORBID ANGEL and you'll know what I mean. Mads is dominating these tempos for sure, and it's very refreshing and unbelievably fun to play KONKHRA songs in these tempos. The fastest we did in the past was about 220 bpm. We hope that fans of the fast new-school death metal will give our new shit a chance. We still do the chugga mid-tempos a lot too, but there are three-four songs that take a bow in the MORBID ANGEL, VADER, BEHEMOTH direction."
KONKHRA released its latest CD, "Reality Check", in May 2003 through Code666 Records. The album was recorded at guitarist/vocalist Anders Lundemark's own Starstruck Studio and was the group's first since their split with longtime label Diehard Music.
